What is a Replay?
Your rules, coded exactly, replayed on the chart.
A Replay is a MetaTrader indicator that re-runs a strategy's exact rules on history. Every trade is drawn on the chart and labelled in R, and a panel sums up each month. You can check it trade by trade instead of trusting a single number.
Rules written down
Entry, stop, targets, session windows, news filters. Every rule is spelled out and validated with you before a single line of code.
Replayed bar by bar
The indicator walks through up to 36 months of history and takes each trade exactly as the rules say, with no hindsight.
Measured in R
Results are counted in R, the risk of one trade, so you can compare strategies, markets and timeframes on the same scale.

How to brief a Replay
Send us your strategy. We turn it into a measured Replay.
The better the brief, the faster and cheaper the Replay. Here is what we need. Rough notes are fine: we ask about every grey area before coding.
Strategy description
The idea in two lines, then the rules:
- What gives the direction (trend filter, average, structure)
- The exact entry trigger and order type
- Where the stop goes, which defines 1 R
- Targets and trade management: partial exits, break-even, trailing
- When a setup is cancelled or ignored
A diagram of the setup
A sketch of the ideal trade, hand-drawn is fine. Mark the legs of the pattern, the entry, the stop and the target, and the indicators involved.
Chart screenshots
Three to five real examples with the date, time, symbol and timeframe visible. Include at least one losing trade and one setup you would not take: they tell us more than the winners.
Markets and timeframes
The symbols to replay (for example DE40, USTEC, EURUSD), the chart timeframe and any higher timeframe the rules read, your broker and its server time zone.
Settings and filters
Indicator settings (periods, types, sources), trading hours, news filter, days to avoid, and the spread or commission to assume.
Scope
How many months to replay (up to 36), your platform (MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 or TradingView), and an existing EA or indicator if the Replay must match it trade by trade.

FAQ
Questions traders ask us.
Is this a signal service?
No. Dark Quant builds measurement tools. We do not tell you what to trade, we do not manage money and we do not give investment advice. A Replay shows how a set of rules behaved on past data.
Does a good Replay mean the strategy will make money?
No. A Replay is a simulation on historical prices. Live results depend on spreads, slippage, execution and on markets that change. Use it to compare and filter strategies, not as a promise.
Do you need access to my trading account?
Never. The dashboard is fed by a small Expert Advisor that only reads the text of the Replay panels on your charts. It never sees your login, your password or your positions.
Which platforms do you support?
Replays are built for MetaTrader 4 today. MetaTrader 5 and TradingView versions are available on request for custom Replays.
What is R?
R is the amount risked on one trade. A trade that makes twice its risk is +2 R, a full stop-out is −1 R. Counting in R lets you compare strategies whatever your account size.
Do you build Expert Advisors that trade automatically?
Yes, on quote (Advanced). The EA follows the rules validated with you, is tested in the MetaTrader Strategy Tester and runs on a demo account before delivery. Once you run it live, the trading decisions and their results are yours: an EA does exactly what it is coded to do, including losing trades.
Will you keep my strategy confidential?
Yes. Custom rules are used only to build your Replay. We are happy to sign a confidentiality agreement before you send anything.
